Today the Senate is voting on the 'Internet Sales Tax' Bill. I've called my 2 senators and voiced my opinion against this. It's an obvious act of futility since it is expected to pass the senate. This is class envy at it's finest.
Speaking for my home state of New York, these people get enough tax money as it is & they're (we're) STILL BROKE! How will this mindless drivel 'level the playing field' for any brick & mortar business? People will always support their local businesses if they deserve that support. Things like location, good customer service & value make that happen. Businesses that don't provide those basics are doomed to fail or regroup and succeed.
Brick and mortar businesses have to find (and always have found) innovative ways to get customers in their stores. Maybe they should look into branching out to internet sales. It's the evolution of business! How will states that don't charge sales tax benefit from this tax? I say pffffft & ptooey. This as a scam that will only hurt consumers followed by businesses.
No, I believe it's deeper than that. It's about further government control through increased taxation. I see uncle andy cuomo's ugly mug smiling all the way to the bank in the name of 'doing it for the people'. Stop them from gaining more of our hard earned money in this shameless act of greed they proclaim to hate!
Business owners, ALL business owners are Patriots. They provide goods and services we want. Call your senators now & tell them NO to the internet sales tax and while your at it, tell your state and local governments to CUT sales taxes on brick & mortar businesses... as futile as that may seem!
