Martial Law in the USA

While I am all in favor of a concentrated effort to apprehend dangerous terrorist suspects, I believe that the "Shelter in Place" policy that the government utilized in Boston was at the least overkill, and at worst martial law.

The government set a frightening new precedence this weekend by shutting down an entire city and going door-to-door with weapons drawn.  What would have happened if a patriot had refused entry to the LEO's?  Would he or she have been taken down and arrested, house searched anyway?

I do not know what the gun control laws are in Mass., but what if this was San Antonio?  In the same situation, a Texan is likely to be carrying a sidearm.  What if he answered the door strapped? Waco? Ruby Ridge?

We can't let this become the norm.  They didn't do this after the Oklahoma City bombing and in my opinion Timothy Mcveigh was far more dangerous than these two kids from Chechnya.  Mcveigh actually had military training.  While some may say that the Boston bomber probably had bombs still on him, they didn't know that Mcveigh didn't.
